Griffin Glass Carved Tube – Crippy
Scott Griffin identified a problem early in his glass blowing career in the 90s, the lack of quality tools in the market. It was at this time that Scott recognized that everything was moving forward with flameworking; however the tools and equipment had not been modified or changed in decades. Scott began making tools for himself that fit all the needs of his studio and as he would visit other studios he noticed that other flameworkers were lacking what they needed in their shops. The “ah-ha” moment occurred while visiting a friend’s studio. This was the day that he decided he would become a tool manufacturer.
Scott is also a talented glass blower who got his start in none other than Eugene, Oregon back in 1995, with all those other glass blowers! Scott is originally from New York and moved back to the east coast later in life. He now resides in Philly and works with a collective of artists in Corning, New York.
Scott’s hobbies include gardening, travel, looking at art, and listening to live music. Scott is inspired by “positive interactions with humans and simply an undying desire to create clean, refined art”. – Scott Griffin
