217 Glass Biography
Mike hails from Springfield, Illinois where he continues to set up shop today. He has only been blowing glass since 2015 and is off to a quick start. Outside of torch work, Mike enjoys the great outdoors taking in fishing, hunting, dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. Staying true to your inner hippie is important too… so you will see Mike on the road during festival season and taking in Phish shows.
Mike gets much of his inspiration from other artist. Some of his favorites include Cameron Burns, Spun Chun, Jay Gordon, and Jake C. Mike’s favorite industry shows are The Michigan Glass Project and Glass Vegas.
Mikes is well known for his killer wig wagged bubble caps but we suspect he will have more in store for the glass community! Some of his favorite colors to work with are green stardust and amber purple.
